Electrical Supervisor – RNAS Yeovilton

Boden Group provide general facilities maintenance and construction project work to the commercial sector as well as facilities maintenance services to the Ministry of Defence at multiple sites in the South West.

An opportunity has arisen for an Electrical Supervisor based at our RNAS Yeovilton Site. The main purpose of this role is to plan and supervisor direct staff and subcontractors to ensure that all operational activities for our main contract and additional works are delivered and targets met. Although the primary location will be RNAS Yeovilton, there will be as required, be a need to support all operational activities across SDA 31.

Main Tasks:

  • Manage planned maintenance, raising and completing remedials and reactive maintenance to achieve KPIs and personal targets through scheduling of work for direct team of operatives and contractors.
  • Schedule supply chain workload in order to complete HFM and reactive jobs on time
  • Continually monitor all activities to ensure statutory, regulatory and contractual compliance
  • Check workload and request deferrals when required
  • Reviewing daily timesheets and risk assessments
  • Checking and scrutinising sub-contractor RAM's
  • Obtain quotes from suppliers and arrange purchase orders
  • Arrange hire equipment as required - cherry pickers, tower scaffold or any other relevant plant required
  • Management of consignment stock
  • Book in and issue parts delivered in a timely manner to achieve KPIs
  • Carry out site safety checks along with WIP and retro inspections
  • Undertake tool box talks and manage training requirements and competencies
  • Promote a pro-active safety culture
  • Check Operatives work and performance through day to day management, WIPS and Retros
  • Undertake 6 monthly and annual team PDPs
  • Develop Continual Improvement Plan for area of concern if required
  • Identify skills, competencies and any training needs of staff to ensure tasks can be delivered
  • Performance manage staff including; objective setting, appraisals, managing poor performance and recognising achievements
  • First point of contact for Operatives and Contractors
  • Management of urgent re-active jobs
  • Assist BG project team with delivery where resource will allow
  • Ensure all required forms are completed / delivered in a timely manner (eg EWN’s, AP Requests, GOSCC notifications)
  • Carry out return to work interviews with operatives
  • Report to line managers on operational performance, improvement plans, provide requested data, statistic and financial information on request
  • Lead by example to adhere to company policies and processes and in support of ISO quality system accreditation

Technical Experience and Qualifications:


  • Comprehensive IT skills including Excel, Word and knowledge of CAFM systems
  • Willing to undertake Safety Management qualification
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience of achieving targets within a budget/fixed price contract
  • Qualifications and experience in recognised and engineering trade relevant to the specific role to include:
    • City & Guilds IEE 17th(18th) Edition Regulations BS7671
    • City & Guilds 2391/05-52 Test and inspection
    • IOSH Working Safely
    • SMSTS


  • Completed or working towards NVQ in a desired management qualification
  • Previous experience of working within either the commercial private sector or the public sector
  • Previous experience of working on a FM contract or within a construction environment
  • IOSH Managing Safely
  • Level 3 certificate in supervision
